Dallas Cowboys of America have taken over from Spanish giant, Real Madrid as the world's most valuable sports club. 

This is the first time ever that a non-soccer club will do that since Forbes starting compiling lists of valuable sport teams.

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team located in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's National Football Conference (NFC) East division. They are headquartered in Valley Ranch in Irving, Texas.

It would be recalled that Manchester United lead the way from 2011 through 2012, until Real Madrid took over till now. 

Dallas Cowboys have a value of $4 billion (£3.31bn), while Real Madrid have value of $3.65 billion (£2.76bn). 

Barcelona follow suit with a value of $3.55 billion (£2.70bn), Baseball side New York Yankees rank fourth, worth $3.4bn (£2.58bn), while Manchester United rank fifth.
