Just In: Newcastle Signs Arsenal's Issac Hayden

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Isaac Hayden, with the 21-year-old arriving from Arsenal and penning a five-year deal.

The youngster is a product of Arsenal's youth system and made his debut for the club in 2013, before spending the 2015-16 season on-loan at Hull City.


Hayden, 21, made just two senior appearances for the Gunners both in the League Cup after coming through the youth ranks at the London club.

However the defender, who can also play in midfield, made 24 appearances for Hull City last season, convincing the Magpies he can aid their bid for an immediate return to the Premier League following last term's relegation.

"Newcastle is a massive football club and to be given the opportunity to come here and progress my career is fantastic," Hayden told Newcastle's official website.

"Being at Arsenal was a great experience, I learnt a lot there and have a lot to thank them for, but I needed to move on and so when Newcastle came in for me I jumped at the chance.

"I am still young but I want to get as many games under my belt as I can and help the team bounce back to the Premier League."
