The Trend Of Social Media Prostitution

The Trend Of Social Media Prostitution

Yahoo yahoo or yahoo plus, however you call it, is not the only online fraud related activity, as a new trend has become prominent on Nigerian social media scene.

The trend is that social workers (I would like to call it social media prostitution) have taken to the internet to carry out their 'worrisome' activities - misdemeanour taken to another level, isn't it?

It is now so prominent that these unwholesome activities are most times thrown out to married men and 'big boys', no longer do they use brothels for their trade, or street hawking. They have graduated into using social media like Twitter, Facebook, BlackBerry for sex-related adverts.

It is so unfortunate that most of these social media prostitutes are guys, not the pictures of unclad ladies that we usually see.

You want to know how they do it? Continue reading...

1. Just like yahoo boys/girls, they do not go after relatively poor individuals that have nothing to offer. And so, they watch out for the rich, married ones, who they know would give them the 'cash'.

2. Of course, we all know 'sugar mummy' is not an open activity in Nigeria like 'sugar daddy', and so these guys (or should we say girls?) use girls pictures to disguise themselves and practically defraud men (sex-greedy men) of their money.

3. The ones that are girls (That is if they are anyway), never appear physically, but use sex videos and naked pictures to entice their 'customers' and those ones send money or whatever they send, just to have a physical 'feel' of what they have seen on the social media. In other words, the social media affords them the opportunity of displaying some of their assets to distract the men and the guys.

4. Then, there is this belief that some men are shy to approach a girl physically, so these social media prostitutes use that as a map to defraud guys.

And much more...

Interestingly, some marriages have evolved from social media dates, but how are we to differentiate social media prostitutes from 'serious-minded' girls?

Now, would you rather meet a girl (Or a guy) physically before dishing out cash, or you prefer the social media thingy?

Have you had any social media runs or heard of any in the recent past? Let's hear your views.
