Nigerian Born Joshua Becomes IBF World Heavyweight Champion
Here comes a very energetic Nigerian Born Joshua who became IBF World Heavyweight Champion.Anthony Femi Joshua is a Briton of Nigerian origin, he became the new International Boxing Federation (IBF) heavyweight champion, as a result of his knockout victory in a contest between himself and Charles Martin on Saturday night at the 02 Arena, London, England.
Joshua who is also the WBC International and Commonwealth Heavyweight title holder, and also the British heavyweight champion.
He remains undefeated in 16 fights and records states that he has not been knocked out since he took up his profession on October 5, 2013, when he defeated Emmanuele Leo of Italy.
Joshua was born to Nigerian, although his father is of both Nigerian and Irish origin, in Watford. He is not the only boxer in the family, his cousin Ben lleyemi is also a renown unbeaten boxer. The cousins both begun their professional boxing career in 2013.
Joshua stayed most of his early years in Nigeria and returned to the UK halfway through the seventh year to join Kings Langley Secondary School where he grew up on the Meriden Estate in Garston, Hertfordshire. He excelled at football and athletics and broke the Year Nine 100m record with a time of 11.6 seconds.
Joshua came into the limelight in the 2012 London Olympic Games when he won super heavyweight Boxing Gold Medal after winning the title for World Championship Super heavyweight in 2011 in Baku.
