Ben TV's Alistair Soyode Wins Big At Silverbird Awards

Ben TV's Founder and CEO, Dr Alistair Soyode, the CEO and Founder of BEN TV, has won the Silvebird Special Achievement Awards alongside writer and novelist, Chimamanda Adichie as well as environmentalist Desmond Majekodunmi.

Dr Soyode has been at the forefront of black entertainment television in the United Kingdom, growing his BEN TV brand into a household name amongst Africans across Europe with footprints also into Africa.

The other awards were under six categories as follows:

Silverbird Post Humous Award: Chief Ladoke Akintola Williams; former Governor of the Easter Region, Akanu Ibiam; the only Prime Minister of Independent Nigeria, Tafawa Balewa, second republic Governor of Rivers State, Melford Okilo and former Deputy Head of State, Major Gen. Tunde Idiagbon (Retd).

Silverbird Lifetime Entertainment Award: King Sunny Ade; Dr. Victor Uwaifo and Eddie Ugboma

The Silvebird Special Achievement Awards: prolific writer and novelist, Chimamanda Adichie, Environmentalist, Desmond Majekodunmi, Founder BenTV, Alistair Soyode.

Silverbird Sports Achievement Awards: Nigerian born British and Commonwealth Boxing Champion, Coach of the Dream Team VI, Nigeria Under- 23 Team and his counterpart for Under-17, Emmanuel Amuneke.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Former Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande; Veteran Fashion Designer Opral Benson; Oba Otudeko; Lulu Briggs; Balarabe Musa.

Silverbird Extraordinary Award: Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Chief Akintola Williams who was the first Chartered Accountant in Africa.
