20 Yrs After Wife's Death, Senator To Marry Gay Lover at 90
A widowed 90year old America senator, Harris Wofford, is to remarry after losing his wife of 48years some 20 years ago. That is not the story however, the story is that this time, he's marrying a man. The senator will be marrying interior designer Matthew V=Charlton who he met on a beach in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when he was 25 years old some 15 years ago.
The couple will be getting married by the end of this month, 68 years after his first wedding, to Clare Wofford. His marriage to Clare lasted for 48 years.
Senator Wofford has this to say: “Too often, our society seeks to label people by pinning them on the wall — straight, gay or in between. I don’t categorize myself based on the gender of those I love. I had a half-century of marriage with a wonderful woman, and now am lucky for a second time to have found happiness.”
Senator Wofford's first marriage was blessed with 3 adult kids.
