My Grandmother Was Almost Killed- Harrysong 

It was reported sometime last month by Vanguard, that two people were left dead and 11 others injured in a clash between two communities Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja in Delta state. According to the reports, the violent clash was caused by a land dispute between the two communities which had started many years ago.  Harrysong recently revealed that his grandmother was almost killed during the same clash last month. According to the Reggae Blues singer, the fight between the two neighboring communities was so intense and the rampaging hoodlums had proceeded to his family house, where his grandmother was, with the intention of tearing it down. Fortunately, a neighbor and some close friends were able to rescue her out of the area before the angry youths reached her.

The singer however, revealed that he lost some of his relatives to the violent clash. “When I first heard of the clash, I feared for my aged grandmother’s life, because some who couldn’t escape before the violence worsened were burnt inside their houses” he said.

He added that in the middle of the crisis, youths of both communities confided in him at some point and demanded money from him to buy ammunition, but with some wisdom he talked them out of fighting each other.

In the spirit of preaching peace to several warring communities in Delta state, Mr. Song also revealed that he has planned a peace concert scheduled for July 31, with the help of some top government officials of Delta state. The event will hold at the Asaba Event Center popularly called The Dome.
