Juventus Offer Contract Extension For Paul Pogba Amidst Transfer Rumour

French midfielder Paul Pogba has being at the centre of big money move with both Manchester United and Real Madrid emerging as the top contenders for his signature.

In a new twist to the protracted transfer rumours, his agent Nino Raiola, has revealed that, Juventus have made an offer to renew the midfielder’s contract and that he remains happy in Turin, cooling speculation that a move to Manchester United is edging closer.

Sources have told ESPN in recent days that United are hoping to speak to Pogba, 23, this week to try to convince him to return to his parent club, with intermediaries already having agreed basic terms with both Juventus and the player’s agent.

Their hopes of signing the France international, whose preference had been to join Real Madrid, were given a further boost as Sky Sports News reported on Sunday that the European champions had ended their interest for financial reasons.

However, Italian reports have long suggested that Juve remain highly reluctant to sell, and Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has suggested he could now prolong his stay with the Italian champions.

“There is a lot of talk about Paul’s future, but maybe he will not leave Juventus,” Raiola, who also represents new United signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, told The Times.
“He is in no rush to leave, and Juventus do not want him to go. They want him to renew his contract. Paul is not desperate to move. We are very happy at Juventus and they are a club that want to keep their star players.”

The agent added that “several big clubs” remain interested in Pogba.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Monday that United are offering €100 million up front for Pogba with a further €23m in bonuses, and a €15m annual salary.
