Buhari Threatened With Impeachment, Melaye Wants To Impregnate Fellow Senator

• The upper legislative chamber of Nigeria became a market place after some members threatened President Buhari with impeachment.

• Dino Melaye threatened to beat up and impregnate Remi Tinubu.

The senators met behind closed doors to deliberate on the forgery case of Saraki and Ekweremadu, and showed their displeasure over the way the case was going.

Sometime into the plenary session, some senators (Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, Kabir Marafa) called on their colleagues to withdraw the petition that led to the criminal prosecution of Senate president (Bukola Saraki) and his deputy (Ike Ekweremadu).

The session chaired by Saraki reminded the Senate that a committee led by former Senate President, David Mark, of which Mark denied knowledge of such a committee.  

Later on, Dino Melaye said the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, should be brought before the senate and vigorously grilled for his case against the senate, also making sure the senate holds ground with the presidency, and issued a number of threats. 

Remi Tinubu however countered that, asking that the senate avoids issuing empty and 'childish' threats, instead reconcile its members.

Melaye did not take that lightly and told Tinubu:

I will beat you up on this floor and nothing will happen.

Melaye also threatened any senator who appeared in court to testify against Saraki and Ekweremadu.

The statement caused an uproar, and senators in support of Tinubu gathered to protect her from an intending assault.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports are that some senators have been gathering at Senator Aliyu Wamakko's home (APC Sokoto) planning to impeach President Buhari.

 And, following this quarrel between the senate and the presidency, it seems proceedings to impeach the president might not be too far fetched. 

The senators have been grumbling for a while now over the trial of senate president and his deputy, and have questioned the executive's business in senate matters.
