Breaking: Petr Cech Retires From International Football
Seems great players have planned a retirement circus this year as Petr Cech has now joined the likes of Lionel Messi to retire from international football.
The 34-year old Arsenal goal keeper announced his retirement via his official Twitter account on Friday, 8th July, 2016:
We lived some amazing moments together - Wishing the team all the best for the future #CZE
We would recall that Czech Republic were eliminated from this summer's European Championships by Turkey after finishing bottom of Group D with only one point.
Cech admitted after the group stage, that he was already thinking of retiring from international football.
I will take a time to decide if I continue in national team (or retire).
It is now a reality. Although the stop-stopper bows out with 121 Czech Republic caps.
He is now set to step back to his club, Arsenal, as pre-season preparations have begun.
