The N67.14m (£180,000) Lamborghini of newly signed Chelsea star, Michy Batshuayi has been towed and impounded in Ibiza after he left it under a tree to ‘keep it in the shade’.According to reports from the famous holidaymakers’ destination, the £33million striker had to pay N123,000 (£330) to cover the fine and the cost of the tow truck after turning up at a council-run car pound on Monday.
Officers got a tow-truck to take the vehicle away from a park on the party island around midday on Monday as locals looked on in amazement at the super car.
A specialist crane ended up having to do the job because the car, which has a top speed of 202mph and can do 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, wouldn’t fit on the normal tow-truck.
A town hall source told local press the car had been rented and the contract was in Michy’s brother’s name.
The paper reported that the 22-year-old footballer recovered his flame-coloured Lamborghini Huracan after turning up at a council-run car pound yesterday afternoon but had to part with N123,000 to cover the fine and cost of the tow-truck.
Batshuayi, nicknamed Batman by fans, faces being likened to colourful former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Ballotelli over his off-pitch activities if he keeps on making headlines.
In April 2011 while he was still playing for Man City it was reported the Italian had racked up nearly £10,000 in parking fines and had his white Maserati impounded an astonishing 27 times.
He was also said to have received £300,000 in club fines, including for throwing darts at a youth team player.
