10 Things We Are Tired Of Seeing In Nollywood Movies

Nollywood has remained the second largest film industry in the world in terms of output for years but then, when it comes to upgrading with better content, then something is just not right. There are certain things that happen in the movies we see, that really don't go with the flow and viewers are tired of seeing them. Its even worse when the market is flooded with so many of them at a time.

Some examples of such things we are tired of seeing in Nollywood movies include;

1. Palace movies where we see the same actors in a palace movie and tomorrow, they are starring in another such movie with the same story just that this time, the writer and producer may be different.

2. Sisters at war or any other sister hating sister movies. We don't want, please teach sisters to love each other instead.

3.Desperate babes, chicks, girlfriends, house girls, palace maids. My God! please... Nollywood just find another name.... but make sure it's not a synonym of desperate.

4. Blood brothers, sisters, throne, kingdom.... Oh no!! we don't want any of those anymore...

5.Ugly costumes its bad enough that all the maids must look the same. The ones with the worse costumes in those movies are usually the ones with the best roles; the "queens" and "princesses". We are no longer in the era of Coming to America, it will be greatly appreciated if Nollywood drops the habit of  using that concept.

6. I still ask myself anytime i watch a Nollywood movie, if a lady's role when someone dies in a movie is to scream and throw herself on the ground and get dirty.... i mean that's not how people do it in real life.

7. That part when someone says something the other character wasn't expecting and he/she is supposed to exclaim instead, what we hear is a loud "WHAT!?"

8. That part when the first person says something like; "Mummy fell off the bed" and then the second person reacts by asking "mummy fell off the bed?" 
Or a woman says "honey, John has got drugs on him" and the husband replies "drugs?" 

Can someone explain why there must be a follow up question please?

9. Then comes our movie posters and TV ads that appear like angry images ready to jump at the reader or viewer.

10. This last one seems to be the selling point of most advertisers, after screaming the advert at the viewers, they then command us to go and "GRAB A COPY NOW!...."
