World Meat Free Day
World Meat Free Day
The world stands still to celebrate ‘World Meat Free Day’,
which is a day set aside to give up meat for just 24-hours.
It is a day showing how easy it can be to eat less meat,
eating quality ones when you eat meat at all.
It is a day set aside to raise the awareness of the benefits
of eating less meat for a healthier, balanced diet that’s better for our planet
and fairer to our food systems too.
The demand for meat will increase as the population for meat
increases, as it is observed that the population of the world will increase by
30% in 2050.
Giving up meat for one day does this:
i.
Saves enough carbon emissions to boil the meat 388
times.
ii.
The daily water usage of nine people
iii.
Up to 11g fat, equivalent to two whole teaspoons
of butter
iv.
Up to 90 calories, about as much as two rich tea
biscuits.
Some people give alternatives to meat thus:-->
