The Evolution In African Bridal Dressing

The world has evolved so much that everything about us seems to be evolving as well, even our traditional values.

Gone are the day when people got married in the traditional way only. These days they must have a traditional and white wedding and Muslims who used to just perform Nikkah with a fusion of the traditional ceremony now also pick two days for the ceremony anyway, it's all good.

Talking about how we dress for the occasion, wow! its so beautiful when you see brides all dressed in white, walking down the isle it makes you feel like "man...I just want to go get married too". But, if everything from the style of the wedding gowns to the transforming make up, food and drinks have evolved how come we still wear white wedding gowns that are not even of our culture?

In countries like Ghana, Togo, Benin, Senegal and a few other West-African countries, they uphold cultural values even during the white wedding, and in other countries like India, China, Japan they get married in their traditional attires and its even becoming a trend in Nigeria now, people get married wearing Saree.  It's all just fashion so why does our cultural and traditional values have to go with it?
