Star Trek Actor Dies Tragically at 27 

Anton Yelchin is dead at 27. His representative confirmed that the Star Trek actor died tragically on Sunday morning when his car rolled and pinned him against a mailbox.

It was reported that friends were concerned when he hadn’t met them for a rehearsal, so they went to his house in the San Fernando Valley section on Los Angeles were they shockingly found Yelchin’s car running and the actor, who also starred in Alpha Dog, pinned against his brick mailbox by the security gate on his driveway, which is on a decline.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and emigrated to the United States as an infant, he is survived by his parents Irina Korina and Viktor Yeltchin, who were famous figure skaters. He began acting as a child. Yelchin’s role as Jacob Clarke in Steven Spielberg’s miniseries “Taken” helped bring him to the spotlight. In addition to TV, he also starred in such other films as Terminator Salvation and Fright Night, as well as in the Smurf movies.

Yelchin had just finished production on Star Trek Beyond and was set to begin production on the TV series “Mr. Mercedes.”
