(Must Read) Can A Child Understand Sexuality?

• The UK, in it's government-funded 'gender-neutral uniform policies, gives boys the freedom to wear skirts to school and girls to wear trousers.
• Eight state schools have approved of this policy.
• Children as young as five can now wear what they feel comfortable with.

As part of the government's drive to be more gender sensitive, boys have been allowed to wear skirts to school, while the girls can now wear trousers.

This is part of a plan to 'see' to the needs of 'trans' children - trans meaning transgender.

The dress codes gives them the freedom to wear things they feel 'comfortable' with. Won't you question the idea of comfort here?

The children have been said to question their gender identity and the government sees it fit to give them the fundamental rights to wear whatever they, at least they are citizens too.

But another question is: Do these children understand gender identity?

Campaigners for the rights of the LGBT community in the UK have warned schools of discriminating against these children and should be more sensitive to their plight instead.

The General Secretary at the Independent Schools Council, Julie Robinson, said public and private schools would soon follow suit, saying the some have already adjusted to the policies that embrace the LGBT pupils.

As usual, Christian organisations have raised eyebrows as such decision could confuse young children and lead other pupils to question their identities at a time when they need reassurance.

The sexual identity debate was one among adults, who understand what gender and sexuality is, and who can ably give reasons why society should not dictate what they should be, or what sexual orientation they should be identified with. However, this idea would give children the mindset that they too can do, and most likely be 'misled' - We can argue that.

Without religious undertones, I hopefully hope the African society does not offer such freedom to children, who have only 'copycats' as adults.
