Just In: UK Leaves The European Union

The UK has made a historic decision to end it's 43-year 'love-hate' relationship with the European Union.

Britain will have to live with the political, constitutional, diplomatic and economic consequences of such an enormous weight for a decade or more. 

Meanwhile, the pin on the atlas marking the UK's place in the world has shifted, just as the centres of power in the UK polity. 

What happens next?

Already:

UK Prime Minister, David Cameron is set to step down in October following UK's withdrawal from the European Union.

Mr Cameron made the announcement in a statement after the final result of the 'Leave Campaign' was launched.
