MTN Group Agrees To Pay $3.9 Billion Fine
The MTN Group has announced its agreement to pay the $3.9 billion fine given to her by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, over its failure to comply with a directive on SIM card registration.
In a statement issued in South Africa, MTN confirmed it was engaging the relevant authorities in Nigeria over the fine even as it expressed optimism that the matter would be resolved soon.
The MTN Group also noted that they would continuously monitor developments with regards to the fine.
Since the fine issue started, it has had several challenges in Nigeria as well as in South Africa, and is optimistic that those challenges will be resolved soon.
