Hehe! Used Condom Found In Woman's Appendix

It is said that 'wonders would never end', and some other wonder has happened again, as doctors  (find condom inside the appendix of a woman that complained of stomach pain and nausea.

The woman, 26 years, visited  the hospital complaining of pain in her abdomen and tenderness on the right side of her pelvis, making her lose appetite and suffer from fever.

The results of the scan done on her revealed her abdomen was swollen with fluid, so the doctors concluded it was appendicitis.

She was immediately rushed to the theatre for surgery.

It was along the way that it was noticed that the 'fluid' was more unusually difficult.

We blindly dissected the appendix and found an incomplete piece of rubbery material which was consistent with a condom,’ said the doctors, describing the case in the Journal of Medical Case Reports.

After the procedure, the woman woke up to tell the doctors that she had accidentally swallowed the condom two weeks before, had noticed the pieces in her faeces days later but thought it was nothing.

They discovered the organ had what would most likely be a used condom inside the appendix, describing it as the first ever in the history of the medical world.

Bullets, fruit seeds and pips, toothpicks, drill pieces, tongue studs, keys and contraceptive coils, fishing lines, screws, coins, stones, toothbrush bristle, pins, needles, teeth, bone fragments and dog hair have been previously found stuck in the appendix.

Once such objects are lodged in the organ, the pulsing of the bowel tract which moves food through the digestive tract is not enough to expel it back into the intestines.

Therefore objects can remain in the appendix for years without showing symptoms.
