Entrepreneurs now sell Australian's fresh air to China
Two Sydney entrepreneurs, John Dickinson and Theo Ruygrok have partnered together to start an air selling business. The air selling business is targetted at people who live in polluted areas in China, and what these enterprenuers do is; they get australian air, fuse it in a bottle and sell to China.
John Dickinson and Theo Ruygrok are the co-founders of Green and Clean Air, a company that is based in Australia and sells bottled air from iconic Australian locations including the Blue Mountains, Bondi Beach, the Yarra Valley and Tasmania for $18.80 a pop.
"We want to give people internationally a chance to taste what our beautiful air is like," Mr Dickinson told the Sydney Morning Herald.
Mr Dickinson said the air canisters had been intended as souvenirs, but Chinese buyers came to seek the product out for perceived health benefits. Private shopper Vivian Zhou told Seven News she was buying the canisters and shipping them to clients in China.
China is currently battling with terrible pollution levels in some cities like Beijing, is the target for this strange product. Late last year, Beijing's pollution alert level was raised to orange, the highest level in history. Residents of the city were literally choking on the hazardous, grey smog.
Dickinson said due to this the product is targeted at the emerging middle class in China, as these customers are very interested in any products which may improve their health and wellbeing.
