Prosecution Counsel Fails to Show up At Saraki's Trial
The trial of embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki, suffered a minor delay as the Code of Conduct Tribunal had to stand down the trial due to the absence of prosecution counsel, Mr Rotimi Jacob (SAN). The EFCC's legal team was headed by Mr Gabriel Ezegine who informed the court that Mr Jacob was attending to another case at the Court of Appeal and won't therefore make the morning session.
Instead of going ahead however, the tribunal chose to defer sitting till afternoon to enable the lead counsel join proceedings, underscoring the importance of the case at hand and the need to give it a speedy hearing.
