American Musician Billy Paul Dies of Cancer

Billy Paul who was best known for the number one hit and Philadelphia soul classic, "Me and Mrs Jones" was confirmed dead in his home in New Jersey after losing the battle to pancreatic cancer. His management confirmed the news that he died Sunday, April 24, 2016, the same day as the Congolese king of Rhumba Rock, Papa Wemba.

A statement on his website revealed he died on Sunday, “We regret to announce with a heavy heart that Billy has passed away today at his home after a serious medical condition. We would like to extend our most sincere condolences to his wife Blanche and family for their loss as they and the world grieve the loss of another musical icon that helped pioneer today’s R&B music.”

The R&B star was married to Blanche and together they had two children.
